Troop 565 Scouts Honored by Suffolk County Police

Police visitThis week, the Suffolk County Police visited troop 565 to honor three of our scouts – EvanP, PeterT and JamesG – for coming to the aid of a police officer in need. During our winter fundraiser event, several scouts braved the cold weather and were selling wreaths at the Paradise diner in Hauppauge. A little past noon, one of the cooks fell ill and the police were called to the scene. The officer was the first on the site, and needed assistance to help the cook. The scouts helped the officer until the EMT’s arrived and took over.

Troop 565 is proud of our scouts quick thinking and willingness to help out an officer in need without hestitation.
