This event was a campout event, but the camping event was cancelled due to heavy rain earlier in the week. As you can see from the pictures, here is yet another event with rain!
Troop 565 participated in two competitions - team volleyball and pumpkin toss. We did pretty good in both events - we placed 2nd in the volleyball competition and was awarded first place with the longest pumpkin toss on a well-built but unproven trebuchet. The winning toss was 289 feet, but whenever the pumpkin was thown, the trebuchet would thow the pumpkin much higher than necessary - sometimes so far that you couldn’t even see the 5 pound pumpkin in flight!

Next year, adjustments will be necessary to fix the trigger release (it got stuck once), put some wheels on it, and straighten out the pumpkins trajectory. With changes, who knows how far that pumpkin will fly!
